Saikel Rides: Levi Moody

The first in our series of Saikel Rides took place in Yorkshire, a region known for producing cycling thoroughbreds and our ambassador, Levi Moody, is no exception having been dealt an unfortunate hand early on in his cycling career. Nowadays, Levi tests himself around God’s Own County with friends and can be found turning up the gas towards Yorkshire’s highest cols.

It’d be nice to say the weather’s always like this in The North of England, but as locals will attest, this was a freak summer heatwave when days of blue skies in 2018 finally surpassed the number of Yorkshire flags standing proud in the next Westerly.

Levi came with us to Mallorca and we knew at that point that he personified everything that Saikel is about: he rides hard, he rides with style and he rides with passion. He’s out there every weekend finding his form early on in the year and carrying it through with his friends throughout the season.

While Levi doesn’t race to the levels he used to, he seeks to improve his cycling in any way he can. He slaves away up Cragg Vale (the longest continual ascent in England) to shave seconds off his previous time and the reward? A pint at the top, of course!

The thing about Levi is he’s not hanging around and he’s always in pursuit of his next goal whether on or off the bike, but while he’s still young, he’s lapping up his time on his Giant TCR setting new personal bests and having fun at the same time.

Levi wears the Saikel red chevrons jersey and chevrons bib shorts.
